What a three-minute test reveals

A short test is useful for quick speed, but the opening seconds can be unusually fast or hesitant. Three minutes provides enough time for your natural rhythm to appear while remaining practical for regular benchmarking.

Sustained pace analysis

The result compares opening and closing WPM segments and shows consistency across periodic samples. A small drop is normal. The aim is controlled output, not forcing the final minute to match an unrealistic launch.

Use a sufficiently large passage

KeyVelocity composes several different original local sentences into each run. It does not make a long test by repeating one sentence. Personal bests are stored separately from 15-, 30-, 60-, 120-, and 300-second configurations.
